Before breaking off the search the destroyers offered assistance to the crew of the BIDWELL which shortly returned to Hampton Roads under her own power ...full story here

Fluckey tests the specific gravity of the sea by using the ship's head and then conns the Barb with decks awash and 10ft or less water under keel into harms way. Killing them all. He figured correctly that the foe would think he was a friendly fishing boat running home close to shore, as his torps ran straight and true. He invited his fellow wolf pack commanders to join him on that late afternoon mission and they declined saying too shallow for them. USS Barb was on war patrol number eight. ....data here

The results of our survey
on the one hand confirmed the stereotype of the gamer as it is often presented in popular media: the players of online FPS were indeed almost exclusively young men (mean age about 18 years) who spend a lot of their leisure time on gaming (about 2.6 hours per day). We also found that the most committed gamers, that is, the ones who were members of a (semi)professional clan, scored highest on motives with respect to competition, and challenge in comparison with members of amateur clans and online gamers who had not joined a clan. On the other hand, our results cast doubt on the accuracy of the stereotype. This study showed clearly that online FPS gamers are not playing in isolation. More than eighty percent of our respondents were member of a clan. Also, the regression analysis showed that the social interaction motive was the strongest predictor of the time actually spend on gaming .... full story here

An instructor in chemical warfare asked soldiers in his class: “Anyone knows the formula for water?”
“Sure. That’s easy,” said one man.
“What is it?”
“H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O.”
“What, what?” reasked the instructor.
“H to O,” explained the chemistry expert. Next Joke

Gentlemen of the 1st Fleet,
We are in need of a fleet name and logo. It has tradionally been the Fleet Commander who decides this, However I propose that since in is our fleet this is a decision we can all make together. So here is what I propose. Come up with a name and logo and present it to me. We then after the close of all the inputs decide on the best choice. We will go until the end of September for inputs. At that time it will be decided. If no inputs are sent in by then in a formal email then I will be forced to choose the name and logo for the fleet. Then we will be stuck with that. Remember this isn't just my fleet it's all of us together that make it work.
